Phil Alderson is a public health doctor who works in the clinical guidelines team at NICE on methods development and quality assurance. He worked at the UK Cochrane Centre from 1996 to 2004, where he was involved in running training programmes for systematic reviewers and co-editing the Cochrane Reviewers’ Handbook. His interests include methods of research synthesis and effectiveness of interventions for head injury.
